“In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears” (Psalm 18:6)
I’ve always been a dreamer, a visualizer and a TALKER! I stay heavy in thoughts and always have a lot to talk about in general. Sometimes the weight of the world 🌎 or my own life often hits and I carry my emotions a lot deeper at times. I also am fully aware of how God is moving in my life and that sometimes the people you deeply try to confine in really aren’t intentionally listening. They have their own troubles and problems. They are often disengaged by other distractions in the surroundings or dealing with their own thoughts that they just can’t show up for others. I use to confine in others in kind of like a tell all emotion talk, how ever I’d hang up feeling empty with just using so much strength to pour out when the other person really wasn’t listening. I could tell they were distracted but I’d keep talking in hopes something I’d say would catch their attention finally all to find out they just were not capable of hearing me through their own distractions. I know I can be distracted at times but sometimes if it’s all the time from someone it makes it hard to continue to express. I learned that most things we want to confine in others about isn’t really necessary. The heart and ears of God are always listening. He wants to hear from us and he gives us so much attention. I had to sit back and think about how much Jesus wants to stay in relationships with him. He is so gentle and he even talks back if you pay close attention and open your self up completely.
As you grow older and wiser it’s important that we shift in maturity and growth in the Holy Spirit. We have to know that he is our Father and he will guide us and he knows our thoughts even before we speak them but he wants to hear from us. He loves our tell all stories and what’s bothering us, what makes us happy, and just every layer of us the Lord is willing and able to hear us. He is not distracted or disengaged. We are all only human and sometimes we just can’t be there for people the way they need us. That’s a heart posture that we have to work hard on in order to be a person of having intentional relationships, conversations and connections with.
Jesus wants to pursue us and stay close to us in all circumstances. No matter how our day went or how mad we were God wants to hear from us. He will guide us, give us strength and be the strong shoulder we can lean on.
We have to keep praying for others and try not to take it personal but use this as a nudge to be in more closer relationship with God instead of people. Yes others should take the time to try hard to listen and be there for others but we can only pray for a persons character and that God can help them identify themselves and what things they need to work on as we to work on ourselves. May we pray that we always show up for people in a humble caring and attentive way. The Lord wants us to be their to carry the burdens for others. Even though it may feel uncomfortable we never know what other people are going through. You do have those who have a bad habit of not showing up for others or having some selfish ways and all we can do is pray for others. We must talk to God before people. He is first in all troubles and happiness. He wants to hear from us first.
I learn every day to give more and more of myself to Jesus and it’s not always easy. Sometimes it’s like I want to say it’s me again Father with more troubled emotions. Then he speaks calmly through his word when I meditate the Bible. He’s just always there waiting for me to unpack and release it all because he cares for me. He cares more than anyone else is humanly able to care.
I challenge hou to stop telling all of your thoughts to everyone else. Go to your father first. The undivided attention of God is superior and you leave the conversation feeling refreshed, renewed and understood. Be encouraged and don’t be so wrapped up in your own life that you can’t show up for others the way God wants you too! it’s a every day work!
I love you friend!
